Tyler, TX - November 7, 2008 - The third day of competition was held underneath the beautiful Texas sunshine at the Texas Rose Horse Park. The Dallas Harvest Horse Show will run through November 9, 2008 and is sold out with over 400 horse and rider teams competing throughout the week.

For the second year in a row, the horse show has teamed up with Habitat for Horses, one of the country's largest horse protection organizations. They match an average of 300 horses per year with forever homes throughout the United States. They have gained support from the countries most influential and popular country music stars Willie Nelson and Toby Keith.

The silent auction was open for bids today during the $15,000 ASG Software/USHJA International Hunter Derby. Items included custom saddles donated by Cheryl Crow, signed paraphernalia by Willie Nelson, a helicopter ride over Dallas, a three month PR media package with Phelps Media Group, Inc. valued at $15,000, and much more. All proceeds go directly to Habitat for Horses.

In the grand prix ring, one of the later classes in the day was the $5,000 Level 5 Jumper Classic. It was run according to Table 2a and designed by this week's course designer Anthony D'Ambrosio.

Coming out on top was Tracy Fenney and Tenfold, who is owned by Sarah Busbice.

"The course was nice. It was like all the other Level 5 classes this week. The courses have ridden great all week," said Fenney. "He is a very fast horse, so that really benefits us in the jump off. He does the turns really quick and lays out the strides. He turns on a dime and is just so fast."

Fenney had to manage her time since she was also competing in the derby at the same time in the main hunter ring. She made it work and ended with a winning time of 29.222 with no rails.

"I didn't watch any go. I was pretty much running back and forth with horses in both classes. He was still perfect," said Fenney. "He performed exactly the way we wanted him to. It is kind of like cheating. He is a great horse, so it is nice to win for him."

The Adult Amateurs had their first class in the grand prix ring as well. Galloping to the win was April Aryan aboard her mount Vesuvius, who is owned by Tuff Competition Farms.

As the last to go in the class, Aryan knew she had to be fast and clean in order to have a shot at winning. Once in the jump off, she executed a fault free round with a blazing fast time of 31.146 seconds.

Aryan's horse is still young and green, but he is coming along well.

"This is our first real season going at it. The height is not a big deal; we are just trying to teach him more about the fundamentals right now," said Aryan."

Aryan just recently moved to Texas from Charlotte, NC. This is her first time competing at the Dallas Harvest Horse Show, and she had only good things to say about the show facility and the footing.

"I am having fun so far. I thought the footing was great out there," said Aryan. "I didn't feel him slipping out from under me in the roll backs at all. He felt really good in this footing."

On the schedule for tomorrow will be the completion of the Level 2 and Level 3 Jumpers. The start of the Low Non-Pro Jumpers, Children's Jumpers, and High Junior/Amateur Owners Jumpers will be held in the grand prix ring as well.
