Announcing the launch of the Equine Mutual Aid
Association.
If you've got horses then odds are you already
have or soon will have to deal with an equine
emergency. Whether it be a highway breakdown,
trailering accident, or natural disaster, as
equestrians we have learned to count on each
others aid in such times.
Who will you call? Do you have their numbers
handy? If you are injured, will rescue personnel
know who to call?
To help with this, Chris and Christina Lee of the
SW Virginia Horse Connection are pleased to
announce the launch of the Equine Mutual Aid
Association, found at www.EquineMutualAid.com.
The Equine Mutual Aid Association will serve as a
way to bring equestrians willing to help each
other together.
Mission Statement:
The purpose of the Equine Mutual Aid Association
is to create a network of members who are willing
to assist other members who may have an emergency
involving their horses. While this would most
commonly be a transportation emergency, the
network would also serve to help horse owners
during natural disasters.
Members agree to assist any other member in need
of assistance to the extent that they are
available and can promptly respond. The objective
is to get the horses to a safe location as
quickly as possible. This may be either returning
the horses to their home barn or providing
transportation to temporary boarding. All members
agree to provide assistance without charge to
fellow members.
How It Works:
Membership is free and open to all equestrians.
The only requirement for joining is that you be
as willing to provide assistance as you are to
ask for assistance. Click the link below to join,
you'll enter information about your location,
equipment, and facilities. Your privacy is our
utmost concern. Your address and email will never
be shared or posted, and your phone number will
be visible only to other members.
Once you've joined you'll have access to a map of
other members locations and a list of their
information. The map and list can be
zoomed/filtered for your home location or a
specific trip you're taking. Print these and keep
a copy at home and in your truck. The information
could be invaluable to you in time of an
emergency.
Join Now:
The success of such an organization lies in it's
membership, help the site get off the ground by
passing this announcement along to all your
