Harrisburg, PA - October 14, 2008 - Stephanie Dubois-Emond, an 18 year old from
Gurnee, IL, might not have been piloting a Porsche around the course of jumps at
the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg, PA, but her mount Carrera Z
was the closest thing to a fancy sports car as she took the jumps with no faults
and sped around the tight corners to win the $10,000 North American League Children's
Jumper Final.
Dubois-Emond had three horses in the top 50 in the NAL Standings going into the
class and has had great success in the NAL Division with both Rebound and Fast Break,
her other mounts. In last year's Final, Dubois-Emond placed 11th with Fast Break,
and going into the 2008 Final was 11th in the standings with Rebound, 25th in the
standings with Fast Break and 33rd with Carrera Z.
Carrera Z, a recent ride for Dubois-Emond, was the wild card in the talented string
of mounts for this rider, and she proved that she was worthy of the faith that her
owner, Rebecca Reisberg had in her, as she jumped up to take the win over the 30
horse and rider combinations that tried to best her efforts.
"My goal has always been to qualify for the finals". Said Dubois-Emond. "Winning
is even better."
The NAL runs season-long series in six hunter-jumper divisions - Adult Hunter, presented
by Practical Horseman, Children's Hunter, Open Jumper Speed, Adult Jumper, Children's
Jumper and Pony Jumper. All horses competing in the NAL finals earn U.S. Equestrian
Federation Horse-of-the-Year points. The NAL qualifying period started September
1, 2007 and ended August 31, 2008. While riders did not need to be members of
the NAL to compete in any qualifying classes, only current members earned points
toward year-end finals.
The NAL series is sponsored by horsetrader.com. Horsetrader.com reaches horse people
