Jonathan McCrea Wins Crowne Plaza Resort Power and Speed StakeAt 39th Annual Lake

Lake Placid, NY-June 26, 2008-Jonathan McCrea of East Windsor, CT rode Triomphe
De Muze to victory in the Crowne Plaza Resort & Golf Club Power and Speed Stake
Thursday at the 39th annual Lake Placid Horse Show.
McCrea was one of 10 entries from the 20-horse field to qualify for the timed speed
section of the course at the North Elba Showgrounds by riding without penalty over
the nine-jump power portion. He then rode his mount without penalty over the seven-jump
speed section finishing in 33.104 seconds to claim the win.
Placing second with no faults and a time of 33.373 seconds was Keean White on Maharaja
while third went to Jimmy Torano who had no faults and a time of 34.756 seconds
on Caldam'or.
The fastest time of the day was turned in by Todd Minikus who finished in a blazing
31.492 seconds on Presidente, the mount on whom he won Wednesday's Whiteface Mountain
1.45m Jump-off. However Minikus, who will defend his title Sunday in the week's
featured event, the $75,000 Budweiser Grandprix of Lake Placid Presented by RV Sales
of Broward, had two rails down for eight faults and a seventh-place finish.
The Lake Placid Horse Show continues through Sunday and is followed at the same
site by the 31st annual I Love New York Horse Show which runs July 1-6. Admission
to the Lake Placid and I Love New York Horse Shows is $2.00 on weekdays and $5.00
on weekends. Children under the age of 12 are admitted free. Tickets are available
at the gate.
