Darragh Kerins Wins $75,000 Hermes Grandprix CSI 3*
At 31st Annual I Love New York Horse Show

Lake Placid, NY-July 5, 2008-Darragh Kerins of Ireland rode Night Train to victory
in the $75,000 Hermes Grandprix CSI 3* at the 31st annual I Love New York Horse
Show.
Four entries from the starting field of thirty five qualified for a tiebreaking
jump-off by riding without penalty over the 16-jump, first-round course designed
by Richard Jeffery at the North Elba Showgrounds. Kerins gained the win by finishing
the 8-jump tiebreaker course fault-free in the fastest time of 46.27 seconds.
Placing second was Keean White of Canada who finished the jump-off with 4 faults
in 46.64 seconds on Celina Z. Third went to Christine McCrea of East Windsor,
CT who had 20 faults and a time of 61.11 seconds on Vegas.
"My horse was the smallest horse in the class, but his abilities are amazing" said
Kerins after receiving his $22,500 first place check. "I feel so lucky to ride
him. He's a once in a lifetime horse for me."
Following the class, Kent Farrington was awarded the Richard and Diana Feldman Perpetual
Challenge Trophy for Excellence given to the rider who wins the most money from
the $75,000 Budweiser Grandprix of Lake Placid Presented by RV Sales of Broward
and the $75,000 Hermes Grandprix.
Earlier in the day, Hallie Buttenwieser won the $10,000 Intercat Inc. Junior Jumper
Classic. Buttenwieser rode Aguila to two fault-free rides and a jump-off time of
33.742 seconds to win the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series event.
Whitney Weeks followed that with a win in the $10,000 Charlotte Bobcats Amateur-Owner
Jumper Classic, also part of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series.
Weeks rode Subliem to two fault-free rides and a jump-off time of 32.726 seconds
to claim the win.
