Buffalo, NY - September 25, 2007 - The 61st annual Buffalo International Horse Show concluded on Sunday afternoon at the Buffalo Equestrian Center in Buffalo, NY.

Thursday
Jennifer Alfano swept the professional hunter divisions on Wednesday and Thursday, proving to be unbeatable. She started off her morning with the tricolor in the First Year Green Hunters aboard Violets Are Blue, owned by Helen Lenahan.

In the Second Year Green Hunters, Alfano and Rock Star proved again that they were the pair to beat. Over the two days of competition, Rock Star won the blue ribbon in every class for the championship honors. Rock Star's success didn't end, as he also competed in the Regular Working Hunter division and brought home the reserve championship. However, he and Alfano also earned the Grand Hunter Championship.

Alfano's roll continued, as SBS Farm horses took both champion and reserve champion honors in the Green Conformation Hunter division. Partnered with Sting, Alfano captured the top tricolor and followed with Jersey Boy for the reserve championship.

She also brought home the Regular Working Hunter division championship aboard Once and Again, owned by Meredith Lipke Bartolone.

Friday
For the second year in a row, Buffalo native Meredith Lipke Bartolone rode her veteran partner Once and Again to the Grand Amateur-Owner hunter championship at the Buffalo International Horse Show. Lipke Bartolone also competed in the Amateur-Owner hunters with her other mount Churchill and earned the reserve championship as well.

In the Over 35 Adult Amateur hunter division, Charlene Graham piloted her own Future Stock to tricolor honors. Graham and Future Stock, also known as "Waffles," also proved victorious in the $1,000 Tell the Truth Adult Hunter Classic. In the $5,000 Up The Creek Pony Hunter Classic, Lindsay Ward of Milford, NJ, piloted Finally Mine to the two-round victory with a score of 155.

Saturday
Three evening classics marked the fourth day of showing at the Buffalo International Horse Show, and Melissa Cleary found victory on her last night of competition in the $2,500 IBM Silver Stirrup Hunter Classic.

In the $2,500 GG Valentine Handy Hunter Classic, Meredith Lipke Bartolone of Buffalo rode Churchill to the win with a two-round total of 178. She also competed with Once and Again, finishing with a total of 161. Jamie Bates George placed second and third respectively aboard Everest and Purple Nova with score of 168 and 167.

Kathleen Mitchell galloped her own Gator Be Careful to the victory in the final class of the evening, the $2,500 M&T Bank Children's/Adult Jumper Classic with a jump-off time of 34.44 seconds over Sydney Christman aboard Cappuccino.

Sisters Lindsey and Morgan Ward dominated the pony hunters, earning championship honors in the Medium and Small pony hunters, respectively. In the 16 & 17 Junior Hunters, Grace Socha piloted Jersey Boy and Sting, both owned by SBS Farms Ltd., to the championship and reserve championship, respectively.
