Lake Placid, NY-June 27, 2007-Todd Minikus of Loxahatchee, FL rode Romy to victory over a 24-horse field in the $7,500 Whiteface Mountain 1.45m Jump-off at the 38th annual Lake Placid Horse Show.

Minikus, one of the four riders chosen to represent the U.S. in show jumping in the Pan American Games at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil later this summer, was one of nine entries to qualify for a tiebreaking jump-off by riding without penalty over the 15-jump first-round course at the North Elba Showgrounds. The 2001 U.S. Equestrian Federation (USEF) Horseman of the Year who won Lake Placid's Hermes Grand Prix in 2004 then completed the seven-jump tiebreaker without fault in 29.284 seconds to claim the win.

Placing second with two clean rides and a jump-off time of 31.500 seconds on Cocu was Molly Ashe-Cawley of Wellington, FL, winner of the Lake Placid's Budweiser Grandprix in 1999. Third place went to Jonathan McCrea of Suffield, CT who finished the jump-off clean in 33.677 seconds on Costa and fourth went to two-time Olympic veteran Lisa Jacquin of Collegeville, PA who had the only other clean jump-off ride, finishing in 33.899 seconds on Grace.

In the day's other feature class, Ezequiel Peralta won the Adirondack Store 1.35m Jump-off, topping a field of 59 horses with two clean rounds and a jump-off time of 34.197 seconds on Allain Z. Second went to Julie Welles who finished the jump-off clean in 34.718 seconds on River and third went to 2004 Olympic team Gold Medalist McLain Ward who had a clean jump-off ride in 34.765 seconds on Athos.
