The American Halter Horse Association officially opened Sept. 1st
2007. The newest Association would like to welcome halter breeders,
trainers, exhibitors and enthusiasts to check out the available programs
and services. The American Halter Horse Association was founded from a
need to have a unified voce in the Halter Industry.
The AHHA believes the Halter Industry was ready to have the Halter Horse
reorganized as the competitor that it is, much like what has been
accomplished with other disciplines (NCHA, NRHA, NSBA, etc.).
The American Halter Horse Association Articles of Incorporation were
filed in March, 2007. The association meticulously planned the by-laws,
rules and AHHA programs before announcing its official opening and
availability to the community. Here are just a few of the benefits of
the American Halter Horse Association:
Money Classes - AHHA will host four shows for 2008 which will all have
money classes.
Membership Benefits - All new memberships will
receive a Free Classified listing in the Breeding Farm or Ranch Listings,
Halter Horses for Sale Listing, or Stallions at Stud
Registration - AHHA will register horses to record pedigrees, performance
and lifetime earnings, and for horses that have lost their breed papers
due to genetic abnormalities
Halter Open Competition - Show your horse at participating clubs and earn
points toward your horse's lifetime earnings.
Just a few of AHHA Programs & Services

Halter Enrichment Program - This cutting-edge program is designed to
reward Stallion and Foal Nominators, as well as benefits to the owner.
All breeds from minis to draft horses are welcome.
The AHHA will work with the breed associations and judges in their breed
to ensure halter standards are followed for that breed.
All breeds should be judged according to their balance, conformation,
breed character, sex character, muscle, refinement, travel, show and the
animals overall control. The conformation standards for a POA would be
significantly different that those of a draft breed or stock breed.
Classes will be breed specific except for Stock type (Quarter, Paint &
Appaloosa) and a few gaited breeds.
The American Halter Horse Association does not require any
prequalification to register or compete. AHHA offers affordable
memberships and levels of membership. A One Year membership is $25.00.
Youth membership is $10.00, and a Lifetime membership is available for
only $250.00. At the American Halter Horse Association.
