The new noncredit Continuing Education program features 15 courses including bits and hoof balance, nutrition, health and disease management, equine massage and a performance horse training class. A complete listing of the online courses, plus course descriptions and outlines can be seen at www.horsecoursesonline.com/kcmetro.html , said Diane Jacobs, Blue River Community Relations Specialist.
Award winning horsemen and women with records of success in the fields they teach are always available to students for one-on-one help by e-mail. “The Internet has made it possible for Blue River to become a world-wide college, bringing internationally recognized instructors directly to our students who can reside anywhere,” Jacobs pointed out.
Students can begin one or more courses at any time and study when it is convenient for them. It’s the fun, fast, new-school way to personal enrichment. A certificate is awarded on completion of each course, Jacobs aid.
Each course carries the added bonus of a special discount on equine insurance.
“Education pays,” Jacobs noted, “not just in discounts for knowledge gained, but in better horse health, better training techniques and increased performance ability for horse and handler.”
