Danielle Dever Wins Everglades Dressage Young Rider Award At $15,000

Wellington, FL (April 12, 2012) -- Danielle Dever, of Hilliard, Ohio,
captured the blue in the Fourth Level Test 1 class aboard Sikander at the
$15,000 Wellington Dressage Classic CDI at the Global Dressage
Festival. During the prestigious show, Dever also won the Everglades
Dressage Young Rider Achievement Award sponsored by Everglades Dressage and
Bethany Peslar.
Sikander is a Dutch horse and he is beautiful and extravagant. This was his
first ride of the season and he was very relaxed and I was really happy with
him, Dever said, adding that she rides with Jessica Jo Tate at Scott
Hasslers farm during the summers and with James Koford while in Wellington.
Dever said her goal with Sikander is to prepare him for competing in
Kentucky this summer. I hope to make it to Kentucky and do really well, she
said. Dever is known for having a positive attitude and in 2010 she was a
USDF Shining Star Recipient. Offered by the USDF Youth Program Committee,
the award recognizes outstanding sportsmanship by USDF youth members.
As the winner of the Everglades Dressage Young Rider Achievement Award,
Dever took home a beautiful embroidered saddle pad.
Having a positive attitude in the show world is so important and I am
impressed that Danielle is a USDF Shining Star Recipient because its a
wonderful honor, said Bethany Peslar, sponsor of the Young Rider Achievement
Award. I want to congratulate Danielle on winning the Everglades Dressage
Young Rider Achievement Award and I look forward to watching her career in
the future.
Peslar, a popular clinician, is a strong supporter of equestrian programs in
the United States. Peslar is a USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medalist, was
the 2006 Reserve Champion in the National Young Adult Grand Prix
Championship Brentina Cup at Gladstone, and is a successful USEF High
Performance Grand Prix competitor. Peslars impressive list of
accomplishments also includes earning her USDF Gold Medal in 2003 at age
21.
