East Aurora, NY and Wellington, FL - January 26, 2011 - Charlotte Jacobs and
Karonda V Schl'Hof CH were unstoppable in the Medium Junior Jumpers,
securing the division championship for Week II of the Winter Equestrian
Festival (WEF) January 19-23, 2011 in Wellington, FL. Jacobs also scored
the championship tricolor with her top Junior Hunter mount, Bring It On in
the Large 15 and Under Junior Hunter division.
Jacobs piloted North Star Ventures of East Aurora LLC's Karonda V Schl'Hof
CH to a first place finish and a second place finish over this week's
challenging courses. Jacobs piloted Karonda V Schl'Hof CH to the second
place prize during Friday's Medium Junior Jumper class. On Sunday, the pair
completed a double clear effort and finished with the fastest time to clinch
Sunday's class and the week's championship prize.
Jacobs was thrilled with Karonda V Schl'Hof CH 's performance. "Friday's
class was great, and Karonda was great. She is a little on the small side,
but she has a great rhythm and is so fast, she covers a lot of ground. She
was so fast and tidy in the jump-off, and I didn't even feel like I was
pushing her hard. Sunday she was amazing, and in one line we'd planned on
nine strides but eight showed up and I just went with it. She was right
there and couldn't have been better. I was excited to win the championship
in the Medium Junior Jumpers."
Jacobs and Karonda V Schl'Hof CH have been working together since the fall
of 2010. With multiple victories in the Junior Jumpers, this horse and rider
combination is looking forward to a bright future.
The young junior rider, who shows under the tutelage of Missy Clark and John
Brennan of North Run, continued her domination of Week Two in the hunter
ring. In between her strong rounds in the jumper ring, Jacobs competed with
her Junior Hunter mount Bring It On in the Large 15 and Under Junior
Hunters. The duo was awarded the top call in this week's handy hunter
round after showcasing their skills over the challenging options. They
secured the division's championship honors after receiving first, second,
second and seventh in the under saddle.
"Bring It On is so much fun," noted Jacobs. "I love the hunters, but I also
love the jumpers so much. Having a hunter that loves the handy as much as
he does is great fun for me. He is always looking to turn or really gallop
one and I just love that about him. He is still a newer horse for me, so I
am really enjoying developing our partnership together!"
Jacobs will continue to compete with her incredible string of horses next
week, showing in the hunters, jumpers and equitation.
