Socorro, New Mexico, May 28, 2010 SWANA is
thrilled to announce exciting changes to its
inspection lineup, including the addition of the
Quality Test, plus new rules for studbook mare
evaluations and Arabian mares.
SWANA's Autumn 2010 Inspection Tour will run from
September 10th through September 21st. Specific
sites have not yet been determined, but the
tentative plans are to have sites in: North
Carolina, Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania/New
Jersey, California, Texas, Minnesota, Washington
state, British Columbia, and Ontario. If you are
interested in hosting a site, please contact SWANA.
The Quality Test, which has long been an important
part of the inspection process in Sweden, will be
available for the first time in North America
beginning with the Autumn 2010 Inspection Tour.
While similar to SWANAs long-standing Three and
Four-Year Test, this new class is open to horses
aged 4 through 10. It is a great opportunity to
show your horses and receive professional
evaluations in dressage and jumping from
established judges from Sweden. Also, it provides
SWANA with more feedback regarding bloodlines,
which will ultimately help breeders make more
informed decisions.
Mares being evaluated for entry into the studbook
now require a riding test. Also, there are now
two studbook divisions that mares have the
opportunity of entering: Division I or Division
II. The rules for upgrading studbook mares from
Premium B or Premium AB to Premium A or Elite have
been updated.
SWANA also has new rules affecting breeders with
Arabian mares. When an Arabian mare is inspected
with a Swedish-bred foal at side, the foal may be
eligible for Book I (highest book) papers.
